Focus areas include: life sciences and biotechnology, new energy, defence, space and aerospace, and quantum and advanced technologies.

Prior to joining TIQ, David managed Austrade's San Francisco Landing Pad assisting Australian founders and tech scaleups identify and secure opportunities in North America. David also served as the first US-based hire for Upwire, an Australian communications tech company expanding into North America.

Henriette Pook

Director of Research Partnerships (Germany and European Markets), based in Frankfurt


Focus areas include: circular economy, new energy, life sciences and biotechnology and quantum and advanced technologies.

Henriette has more than 20 years’ experience in global business development, strategic partnerships and delivery of high-impact initiatives, including 15 years at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission in Germany. She has worked closely with government agencies, universities, research organisations and businesses in Australia and Germany, and has extensive experience in facilitating research and industry partnerships.

Keiko Yanai 

Director of Research Partnerships (Japan), based in Tokyo

Focus areas include: renewable energy (green hydrogen and ammonia in particular), bioeconomy, blue carbon, life science and advanced technologies.

Keiko is also looking forward to Expo 2025 Osaka as an opportunity to showcase Queensland's R&D strengths to the world. 

Prior to joining TIQ in 2022, Keiko was a career diplomat, serving in various overseas posts and building a long-standing career in international relations and diplomacyDuring her time as Consul General of Japan in Brisbane from 2017-2018, Keiko advanced the close relationship between Queensland and Japan working closely with TIQ and other government agencies as well as Queensland and Japanese business communities.

Focus areas include: life sciences and biotechnology, agritech and circular economy, quantum and emerging technologies 

With 14 years of experience in international organisationsAnwesha in her previous role led Dutch research and innovation in India working closely with Indian corporates in agritech, innovation and life sciencesShe is also looking forward to co-organising BioAsia 2025 in Hyderabad to position Queensland life sciences. She also takes special interest in corporate communications by managing public relations to enhance the reputation of Queensland in India.
