Visas for short courses


If you have enrolled in a short-term course and plan to visit Australia during this time, you may be able to apply for a working holiday visa or a visitor visa.

Working Holiday Visas (subclass 417 and 462)

You can work and complete short-term study (up to 4 months) on the Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417) and the Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462). For more detailed information, please check the Department of Home Affairs website.

Visitor Visas (subclass 600, 651 and 601)

You cannot work in Australia if you enter on a visitor visa, however you can study (up to 3 months). For more detailed information, please check the Department of Home Affairs website.
