Student visa eligibility

Australia has strict student visa requirements for applicants. To be eligible you must meet these requirements which include:

  • Confirmation of Enrolment with an Australian education provider
  • Academic entry requirements such as proof of academic performance
  • English language proficiency requirements such as an approved English language test
  • Finance requirements such as evidence of funds for courses and living in Australia
  • Health requirements such as proof of overseas student health cover
  • Insurance requirements such as proof of international student travel insurance for the duration of your stay
  • Genuine Student requirements

Post-study work opportunities

Once you have finished your studies, most international students return to their home countries. If you want to stay in Australia temporarily to work, you may be able to apply for a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485).
